Welcome to Hemsworth Arts & Community Academy

I am delighted to announce that as of 1st August 2013 we have been awarded Academy status and will now be known as Hemsworth Arts & Community Academy. I would like to thank staff, students, parents & Governors for your support and involvement in this process.

The school now moves into a new era and another phase in its history. In 1924 the Hemsworth High Hall buildings were transformed into a school known as Hemsworth Grammar School. In 1967 it changed to become Hemsworth High School, having a major change once more in 1996 when pupils from age 11 to 13 were also admitted. In 2000, Arts College status led to a change of name to Hemsworth Arts and Community College and we will begin the new Academic year in 2013 as an Academy.
