Welcome to Hemsworth Arts & Community Academy

As we approach our second year as an Academy I would like to thank staff, students, parents & Governors for your support during 2013-14.

We have had a successful year and have made significant progress against our 10 areas of focus. "Route to Outstanding" Click Here for details of the targets and our progress.

We continue to ensure that our Academy ethos is that we will all do the very best we can to enable the young people in our care to maximise their potential in everything that they do.

We are committed to safeguarding children and young people and expect that anyone who works with us, in whatever capacity, shares this same commitment.

It is a great privilege to be part of the team which will take the school forward to continue to build on the successes of the past and further raise standards.

The vast range of opportunities on offer for students and the wider community is central to our success in promoting positive attitudes and lifelong learning.

We are not complacent, continually looking for ways to improve further.

Our central focus will continue to be the commitment to ensure that the Academy does its very best to serve the community and that we raise the achievement of ALL.

We will be working in partnership with Wakefield City Academies Trust (WCAT) to ensure students at Hemsworth develop into:

- Successful learners, who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve

- Confident individuals, who are able to lead safe, healthy and fulfilling lives

- Responsible Citizens, who make positive contributions to society

I encourage you to continue to visit our website for updates on all aspects of our work.

Our 10 areas of focus have been updated for 2014-2015 - Click Here. All curriculum areas and student guidance teams are working towards the same priorities. We will update this section regularly with our progress.
